NEW ALIENWARE AREA-51 | Intel Core i9 7980XE VS AMD THREADRIPPER 1950X

NEW ALIENWARE AREA-51 GAMING MONSTER | Intel Core i9 7980XE VS AMD THREADRIPPER 1950X

AMD Threadripper 16 cores 1950X CPU / Intel Core i9 7980XE 18 cores + GTX 1080 TI = AREA-51

Dell Alienware is Bringing both AMD and Intel Monster CPUs in the Highest end of gaming PC the Area 51, AMD THREADRIPPER  monster CPU & Intel Core i9 7980XE + GTX 1080 TI = AREA-51.  Another strong thing abut the Area 51 is using the NVIDIA Flagship the GTX 1080 Ti for graphics in its highest model. Any gamer that knows about these pieces, Threadripper and I9 and GTX 1080 Ti will be interested to find out more about what is the new Alienware area 51. And just by knowing that these are the main parts you know its a gaming monster. Dell is currently offering the Area 51, the AMD Version  with the 1950x AMD Threadripper and GTX 1080 ti from nvidia fro the highest graphics possible in its highest configuration that costs you about $4000.

The entry level Area 51 that cost you about $2700 now, has a lower model of AMD Threadripper 19200x and 8 gig of ram less than the highest config. It has also a lower graphics the popular GTX 1060 6 gig. The hardware combination is fantastic if you are only caring about the performance. But if you are an Intel gamer you should take a look at the Intel version of the Area 51. Intel Core i9 7980XE + GTX 1080 ti 8gb from nvidia. We made a brief comparison of I9 cpu vs Threadripper Obviusly the I9 series is stronger and fster but that speed and performance as a cost and it is $1000 difference between the two high end models of area 51 Intel vs AMD. However, because this Area-51 PCs are going to be based on Intel’s “Kaby Lake-X” platform, it supports the company’s Optane memory technology. Sold in 16GB and 32GB capacities and the AMD versions can not have that, these “cache” sticks don’t replace the PC’s system ram or hard memory, they serve as a place for the pc to store highly-used files typically parked on a hard drive it actually keep data even when the pc is off so it can be a big deal.

For estimating that how stronger is the area 51 Intel version than the AMD version you can check out the benchmark below. It is so clear that In single core benchmarks it the Intel leading and You see in many benchmarks that AMD 1950x takes over the intel 7900 CPU but it can not beat the 7980XE. But again you shoulder check if the difference is worth $1000.  More Cores has always helped AMD to beat Intel in some Levels but at the highest end Amd 1950X can not beat the I9 7980XE, cause not only it has all the cores but it also has the strongest single core benchmarks. In terms of Speed Intel wins but in terms of money for performance it is AMD that has a lot to show off. Intel Core i9 7980XE has 18-core, 24.75MB Cache, up to 4.4GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 VS AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X with 16-Core, 40MB Cache, Overclocked up to 3.6GHz on all cores. Except the CPUs the Area 51 AMD and intel version have two more important differences. On AMD version you get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti with 11GB GDDR5X but on Intel version you get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 with 8GB GDDR5X which is actually a big deal, so with AMD not only you get a cheaper one you get a 11 gig version of 1080 ti. The other important difference is the Optane memory we mentioned earlier. In some case the performance  and loading files in games has been increased by 46% using the Optane memory. and Intel has claimed to bring up to about 60% speed increase. “Games and levels will load faster too – up to 67 percent faster game launch and up to 65 percent faster level load”. Both are important and effective issues in gaming.
